Connect is a learning, support and communications platform developed by the Department of Education WA for staff, students and parents in public schools.

 

Connect is the preferred communication platform at Flinders for whole school and class communication. The use of Connect will help support communication between home and school. It also enables your child to access the free Microsoft products such as Word and Powerpoint, on their internet-linked home computers.

 

Classes can use Connect to support class learning or create a remote learning environment. These skills will continue to be developed through the local public high schools, who also use Connect. 

 

Connect is totally free and very safe. As well as being able to log into Connect on any internet-connected device, you will also receive notices from Connect that will be sent to you as either an email or a notification on your phone. You can switch the notifications on or off yourself.

 

A free app called ‘Connect Now’ can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store and will let you receive Connect notices as push notifications.

 

When your child enrols at the school the main Parent/Guardian will be assigned a username (P-number) and a link to the Connect sign-in page.  Parents will be directed to set up their own password. The school does not keep a copy of these passwords as they are private, please record it somewhere safe for future reference.  Once you follow the directions you will be able to access the School Space, and your child’s record. 

 

Please note:

  1. If you have multiple children, you will only be issued one login – even if your children attend different public schools or the local high school. 
  2. If there is a second parent requiring access, they can be added to the system, just ask at the front office. We will need to verify that the parent is a legal guardian and check their email, which is required for their account.

 

When you log into Connect you will be able to see information specific to your own child/ren. The view will be different between the App (brief, notifications and reports only) and a Web Browser (more comprehensive).
