Over 122 students actively made their way to school: 95 students pedal powered their way, 27 students scooted and 35 students caught the bus to school this morning.
Our students arrived from 8.15am and checked their bikes and scooters in with our deputy principal Richelle who was supported by our student councillors. We recorded bikes, scooters, student names and classrooms for our survey and to create our Ride2School certificates.
This year we gave our students a special challenge, the best dressed up and decorated bikes and scooters would win a prize.
The atmosphere at school was buzzing with excitement and students admired and complemented each other’s bike creations. There were dinosaur bikes, unicorn bikes, wildflower bikes and lots of lights and balloons to be seen.
Our Pre-primary class had two bike mascots for Ride2School Day!! Flinders Bear and Buddy the Dinosaur went all out with their decorations this year.
Just before Break 1 we organized a bike parade for students to show off and present their bikes to the school. A judging panel chose the four best dressed bikes. The winning students were announced at our assembly and received a promotional Your Move/WestCycle prize pack each.
